I. CLARK APPOINTED ASSOCIATE LEGAL COUNSEL
FOR NEW JERSEY PLANNING OFFICIALS
Richard I. Clark has been appointed Associate
Legal Counsel for the New Jersey Planning Officials (“NJPO”).
NJPO, founded in 1938, is a non-profit, tax exempt organization
whose mission statement is “to promote public interest
in municipal and regional planning; to foster the cooperation
of planning boards and boards of adjustment throughout New Jersey
in furthering the aims of planning; to assist local planning
boards and boards of adjustment with advice; and to encourage
the development of regional, county and state planning as an
aid to local planning.” In addition to assisting governmental
officials with legislative issues, NJPO also sponsors seminars
and educational programs throughout New Jersey for citizen groups,
corporations and professionals.
Mr. Clark is a longstanding member of NJPO and
is one of five attorneys receiving appointment as Associate
Legal Counsel for the statewide organization. He currently serves
as Attorney for Franklin Borough and Walpack Township as well
as the Frankford Township and Oxford Township Land Use Boards
and Vernon Township Zoning Board.
Mr. Clark is a Partner with LADDEY, CLARK &
RYAN and concentrates his practice on issues involving municipal
law, land use, zoning, commercial real estate, estate planning
and administration, and elder law. He is a frequent lecturer
and author on topics within his expertise for the NJPO and other
organizations and is an adjunct professor of law at Rutgers
University Law School in Newark.
Mr. Clark received his J.D. from the State University
of New York - Buffalo and his B.A. from the University of Notre
Dame. He is a former Assistant Prosecutor, Sussex County and
former President, Sussex County Chamber of Commerce. He currently
serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Newton Memorial
Hospital and is an active member of the New Jersey Bar Association
and New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys.
