Jonathan McMeen, Esq., of Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP, was recently named to the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District XB Ethics Committee. The Supreme Court has established ethics committees across the state, administered by New Jersey’s Office of Attorney Ethics. The attorneys on the committees investigate ethics complaints against other attorneys.
The District XB Committee attorneys are assigned to investigate grievances in Morris and Sussex Counties. They determine whether unethical conduct has occurred, and, if a finding of misconduct is sustained, they recommend appropriate sanctions. While conducting the investigation, the ethics attorney will contact the attorney, complainant and any witnesses, and review any associated documents. Sanctions range from admonishment to disbarment.
McMeen is a Litigation Associate at Laddey, Clark & Ryan. He handles Commercial and Civil Litigation in the State Superior Court and Federal District Court, and is a member of the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. He is the Municipal Prosecutor for Sparta, Newton and Ogdensburg.
McMeen received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics from Lafayette College. He received his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
