Brian M. Laddey Committee on Professionalism Formed
12/20/11
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Sussex County Bar Association recently created the Brian M. Laddey Committee on
Professionalism, comprised of attorneys and judges to assist members in
fulfilling and maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical
standards in the practice of law. Brian Laddey, who passed away in 2007, was named Professional Lawyer of the Year by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism In The Law, in 1997 by Deborah Poritz, then the Chief Justice of the NJ State Supreme Court. Laddey is a former Sussex County Prosecutor and a former President of the Sussex County Bar Association. He was a founding partner of Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP in Sparta.
The Professionalism Committee consists of lawyers and judges who will work
to maintain a professional counseling program designed to improve the conduct
of lawyers and judges through educational seminars and individual counseling.
Neither the program nor the process it involves is disciplinary or punitive in
nature; rather, each is intended to be rehabilitative and informal. The
Professionalism Committee is composed of lawyers and judges acting for the
benefit of the legal profession. Angelo J. Bolcato, Chair of Laddey, Clark & Ryan’s Corporate and Business Law Practice Group, is on the board of the committee.
