Garofalo Speaks at State Convention

Michael Garofalo, Esq., an attorney with Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP of Sparta and
Associate Council for the New Jersey Planning Officials, recently spoke at the League
of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City.

The annual conference is intended to assist local planning boards, citizens groups,
corporations and professionals interested in planning with advice on municipal
land use issues and laws.

Garofalo addressed officials at a seminar entitled “New Planning Board,” where he taught
the state required course on land use law basics to new board members. He also
spoke at a seminar entitled “Defensible Decision Making,” which addressed the
legal factors that experienced  land use board members must consider to protect their decisions from appeal.

 “As an Associate Counsel with New Jersey Planning Officials  I have had the privilege of traveling around the state and meeting the people who volunteer their personal time to their home towns. It is an extremely rewarding experience to work with planning officials throughout the state,” says Garofalo.

Garofalo is currently the attorney for the towns of Wantage, Ogdensburg, Montague and
Walpack. He has been a speaker on municipal law and land use issues for many
years at the Atlantic City convention.
