William P. Knox, Esq., recently addressed Workers’ Compensation issues at an afternoon seminar for local attorneys. The seminar, entitled “Orthopedic Medicine and Pain Management for Attorneys,” was designed to educate attorneys on medical issues associated with personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.
So that attorneys can properly represent their clients, they need a working knowledge about medical conditions associated with their clients’ injuries. Seminar topics taught by medical doctors included anatomy of the shoulder, traumatic injuries versus degenerative conditions, an overview of medical records and pain management. Knox led a discussion on pre-existing injuries versus injuries that were without apparent cause.
“I particularly enjoy teaching my peers,” says Knox. “These are difficult concepts for the non-medical professional to grasp, and it is challenging to describe complex medical conditions to attorneys.”
Knox is the Chair of Laddey, Clark & Ryan’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group, as well as the Estates and Trusts Practice Group. Knox has over 30 year of professional experience, having worked for New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance. He is a NJ certified workers’ compensation attorney.
Knox graduated from Seton Hall Universityand received his J .D. from University of Alabama.
