Laddey, Clark & Ryan to Host 2nd Annual Non-Profit Summit

Laddey, Clark & Ryan to Host 2nd Annual Non-Profit Summit

Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP is hosting the 2nd Annual 2017 Non-Profit Summit on April 26, 2017.  The Summit is intended to bring together leaders from the non-profit community for a series of informative and interactive sessions designed to highlight best practices and achieving the greatest impact within the community.

Thomas Ryan, Esq., Managing Partner at Laddey, Clark & Ryan, will moderate the Summit.  “We had such an enthusiastic response to our first non-profit summit last year that we wanted to continue to provide an opportunity for the non-profit community to gather,” said Ryan.   “We are very excited to bring together distinguished decision makers for non-profit organizations and local leaders in the non-profit community who will be offering ways to improve organizations’ best practices.”

Speakers at the Summit will include experts on issues of importance to not-for-profit organizations.  Karen Cerreta, Chief Development Officer for Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, will offer her insights on how to maximize the impact an event can have for a non-profit organization, both monetarily and in raising awareness about the organization.  She will also identify potential pitfalls every non-profit should be aware of before hosting a fundraising event.  John D. Carrico II, CPA, Partner at Cullari Carrico, LLC, will speak about the importance of using IRS form 990 to tell about an organization’s story to potential donors; it’s an often overlooked aspect of fundraising, but one that is critically important to any non-profit organization looking to attract new supporters.  Keith German, Community Reinvestment Officer at Fulton Bank of NJ will discuss the Community Reinvestment Act, which requires banks to donate money to organizations helping low to moderate income communities.  German will highlight what the requirements are to apply for donations and help non-profits stand out in order to secure this underutilized funding source.  Finally, Ursula H. Leo, Esq., Partner at Laddey, Clark and Ryan, LLP, will review the necessary steps all non-profits should be taking to protect themselves and their board members by having updated and complete handbooks for both employees and volunteers.

The Summit will be held at Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey from 11:30am to 2:30pm.  Email Erika etintle@lcrlaw.com or visit www.lcrlaw.com to register. Space for this event is limited.
