As part of their Employment Law Seminar Series, Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP will present Employment Basics for Professional Offices on April 18, 2017 from 8:30-11:30 am at Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ.

The second seminar in the Employment Law Seminar series will present valuable employment basics for owners and office managers of medical, dental, veterinary, accounting and other professional offices. The seminar will focus on classification of employees, employee pay requirements, at-will employment and expectations, discrimination and harassment, disability accommodations, ending the employment relationship as well as hiring dos and don’ts and other required policies.

Presenters Ursula Leo and Michael Darbee will discuss the clear expectations and fair treatment that will assist in a successful employer employee relationship.

“It is difficult for busy professional offices to find the time to deal with employment matters but it is essential that these employment basics are understood,” states Leo. She continues, “Time spent preparing personnel policies and procedures will help maintain a positive workplace and help protect employers from claims.”

Ursula Leo, Esq. focuses her practice on Employment and Labor, Municipal, and Land Use Law. She advises clients in all aspects of employment and labor law, including employment contracts, compensation agreements, non-competition and non-disclosure agreements, and severance agreements. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, and her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law, cum laude. She is a frequent lecturer on Employment and Labor Law topics.

Michael Darbee, Esq. focuses on Employment and Labor Law, as well as Estates and Trusts. He earned his J.D. at Widener University School of Law and was a Board member on the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. Michael received his B.A. degree in English from The College of New Jersey.
