The 200 Club of Sussex County Honors and Supports Local First Responders at Annual Dinner

The 200 Club of Sussex County held its Annual Dinner to recognize and support the County's first responders. The event, held on November 17 at Perona Farms in Andover, featured special guest speaker Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police.

Founded in 1991, The 200 Club of Sussex County is a non-profit organization providing financial assistance to the families of first responders - including members of local police departments, fire departments, EMS agencies, the Sussex County Sheriff's Office or the New Jersey State Police who live or serve in Sussex County - who lose their lives in the line of duty. The Club also awards scholarships to Sussex County's first responders and their dependents. In addition, the Club issues valor awards to first responders for acts of heroism.

Tom Ryan, President of The 200 Club and Managing Partner of the law firm of Laddey, Clark & Ryan, LLP, welcomed guests and introduced the Special Guest Speaker. Colonel Callahan was sworn in as the 14th Colonel of the New Jersey State Police in 2017. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Superintendent of Operations.

At the dinner, The 200 Club also had a special remembrance for Eskil "Skip" Danielson, former Byram Township Chief of Police and a Trustee and Founding Member of The 200 Club.

In addition, nine 200 Club of Sussex County Scholarship recipients were recognized.

"This evening, we take time to say thank you, and to assure our First Responders that we have got their backs," declared Ryan in his remarks. "Our First Responders define what community is all about. It is an honor and a privilege to be here for them.”
