Five LCR Attorneys Volunteer with Statewide Mock Trial Program

Over the past couple of  weeks, several Laddey, Clark & Ryan attorneys have been busy volunteering with the Vincent J. Apruzzese New Jersey High School Mock Trial tournament.

Travis Nunziato, a lawyer in LCR’s Personal Injury Practice Group, serves as the County Coordinator of the high school mock trial tournament. Travis works with local high schools to create mock trial programs within the schools, pairs local attorney volunteers with high schools to serve as coaches, and organizes/runs the countywide tournament. Prior to serving as Coordinator, Travis volunteered as an attorney coach to Newton High School, where his team placed 3rd in the state out of over 200 teams.

Attorney Thomas White served as a judge for the opening round of the competition on January 31.

Attorneys Fredric Knapp, Timothy Dinan and Meghan Steingall all served as judges for the semi-final round of the competition, held on February 7.

The final round of the competition was held on February 9 in the Historic Sussex County Courthouse.  Hon. William J. McGovern, III and Hon. Michael C. Gaus served as judges.  Ultimately, Newton High School was declared winner of the competition.
