$500,000 Verdict for Spinal Disc Herniation Injury

$500,000 Verdict for Spinal Disc Herniation Injury

A Hunterdon County jury returned a verdict on April 12 for $500,000 for injuries sustained by Nicole Trowbridge, age 29.  Ms. Trowbridge was injured in a rear-end collision on Route 513 in Frenchtown, NJ on May 10, 2013.  Ms. Trowbridge was represented by Andrew Fraser of Laddey Clark & Ryan, based in Sparta, and Anthony Murgatroyd of the Murgatroyd Law Group, based in Flemington.

Ms. Trowbridge suffered permanent injuries to her right shoulder and a cervical spinal disc herniation.  The jury returned the verdict following a five-day trial before Judge Michael F. O’Neill of the Vicinage 13 Superior Court, after deliberation for 1 hour and 45 minutes.  Medical experts Dr. Nirva Shah, neurosurgeon, and Dr. Cary Skolnick, orthopedist, testified on behalf of Ms. Trowbridge.

“We would like to thank the jury for their verdict.  Nicole sustained permanent damage to her spine and right shoulder.  The defendant drove into the back of Nicole’s car causing it to be totaled and permanently injuring Nicole”, said Fraser.  “We appreciate the jury’s efforts to try and compensate Nicole for her permanent injuries caused through no fault of her own,” commented Murgatroyd.

The defense, Jon Robertson and Roberto Gaglione of the Law Offices of Terkowitz & Hermesmann, stipulated to liability and called Dr. Joseph Dryer, Orthopedic surgeon, as their medical expert.
