Commercial Litigation

We want our clients to focus on their primary business objectives, and not on litigation.

However, business disputes often arise when least expected, and when they do, the experienced commercial litigation attorneys at Laddey, Clark & Ryan are devoted to providing effective and efficient business litigation services to resolve our client’s legal issues and protect their future business interests.

We work for early resolution through negotiation and mediation, but when the matter cannot be resolved amicably, we always stand ready to take the dispute to trial, and through the appellate process, if necessary.

Our commercial litigation services include representation for business clients named as plaintiffs and defendants in disputed matters involving:

  • Breach of Contract
  • Business Dissolution
  • Consumer Fraud Act
  • Construction Liens & Defects
  • Shareholder Litigation
  • Uniform Commercial Code
  • Prompt Pay Act
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Insurance Coverage

Professional Liability

The professional liability team represents individuals, estates, and corporations seeking to be made whole as a result of the client’s previous attorney negligently handling the client’s case. When we are contacted, our attorneys begin a thorough investigation of your previous case to determine whether your prior attorneys complied with the standards of the profession.  That investigation is intended to determine whether you have been damaged as a result of your previous attorney’s negligence, and, if so, the best route forward for you to get the redress you deserve.

Clients are not experts. A client may feel that their attorney has been negligent but may be unaware of a blown statute of limitations, the failure to follow Court Rules, the failure to abide by the ethical standards of the profession, or the failure to properly prepare the case for trial.

Our attorneys are mindful that persons who have been negligently harmed by their previous attorney’s conduct are hesitant to re-engage in the litigation process. We will take the time to explain the process of prosecuting a malpractice claim and make sure you understand the steps that are being taken to aid your claim. To ensure the comfort level of our clients we will work with you to come to a fee arrangement that is satisfactory to you.

The professional liability group also handles malpractice cases against other licensed professionals (non-medical) whose negligence has been the cause of damages.

When business disputes lead to litigation, it is important to have a legal team of experienced New Jersey commercial litigation attorneys who will protect your interests. We are ready to answer your questions and assist you in exploring your options.   Contact us today or reach us by phone 973-729-1880.
