Being a zealous advocate is the bedrock principle of client representation. I strive to live by this principle with each and every client’s matter.

Having practiced law since 2003, Jonathan McMeen concentrates his practice on representing employees injured in workplace accidents throughout New Jersey. Jonathan has represented hundreds of individuals who were injured in workplace accidents. He takes a personal interest in each of his client’s cases with the intent of successfully guiding them through a difficult time in their lives.

Jonathan has extensive knowledge in the area of workers’ compensation and has resolved hundreds of cases. He focuses his practice on orthopedic injuries, with a concentration on neck, back and shoulder injuries. Following is a sample of a few noteworthy cases:

  • Successfully defended an appeal by an employer seeking to reverse a judge’s order that granted medical treatment to a client based on her desperate need for “Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment” to help treat Lyme Disease, which was contracted on the job.
  • Successfully obtained shoulder replacement surgery for an injured client where the employer vehemently denied that it was related to the workplace injury.
  • Obtained a $240,000 settlement in a heavily disputed claim in which a client was severely injured when a vehicle’s trailer ran over his leg, causing significant injuries. The employer denied that the matter was “work related” due to the fact that the client was utilizing his motorcycle as a means of transportation to a scheduled job site. After the matter was resolved, the client was able to resolve all of his outstanding medical bills and save money for future medical treatment.
  • Resolved a claim where a client’s severe workplace injury led to abuse of prescription narcotics as a way to alleviate the pain associated with the injury. Successfully urged the employer to accept liability for the client’s psychological condition that was directly linked to this narcotic abuse.

In addition, Jonathan performs the duties of municipal prosecutor in the towns of Sparta, Newton, Ogdensburg and Green Township. He has prosecuted over 45,000 individuals charged with traffic and criminal offenses. He has had more than 100 bench trials.
