Many people in New Jersey -- and in our communities, specifically -- have been hit very hard, economically, by the current crisis. A growing number of people are struggling to meet their families' basic needs, so Laddey Clark & Ryan LLP came together to support the Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry in its efforts to feed the growing number of Sussex County residents who are food insecure.
The law firm asked its employees to make cash contributions to the Food Pantry, and the firm matched those contributions. In addition, Laddey Clark & Ryan reached out to its friends and business contacts to let them know of the effort and invited them to contribute as well. Says Thomas N. Ryan, Managing Partner, “It was very gratifying to see the tremendous support, from both within and outside our firm, for this vital county resource.” The firm was proud to deliver checks to Valerie Macchio, Director of the Food Pantry, for the purchase of vital food and related items.
Ms. Macchio participated in a firm-sponsored Zoom webinar on June 30 to make members of the Laddey Clark & Ryan “family” aware of the work that the Food Pantry is doing in the face of the current crisis and how their contributions are contributing to this effort.
The Sparta Ecumenical Food Pantry initiative is part of Laddey Clark & Ryan’s continuing community outreach efforts, which have continued into the pandemic.
