NJ Tax Filing Update

NJ Tax Filing Update
Fittingly on April 15, 2020 Governor Murphy signed into law a bill that extends the deadline for filing and paying 2019 New Jersey individual income, partnership and corporation business taxes. The new July 15, 2020 deadline aligns with the IRS’ federal filing and payment deadline. Additional information is available on the State’s website found here.
In addition, yesterday the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development issued guidance to assist independent contractors, self-employed individuals and gig workers in applying for economic assistance under the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program and Families First Coronavirus Response Act. This information can be found here.
