Laddey, Clark & Ryan is pleased to congratulate its former Managing Partner, Thomas N. Ryan, on the assumption of his new role at the firm as Senior Counsel. Personal Injury litigator Timothy Dinan has been elevated to the role of Managing Partner as of January 1, 2025.

Ryan was a founding partner of the firm, having begun the firm over 36 years ago, working with Brian Laddey, Richard Clark, Lorraine Parker, Deborah Nicholson and Glen Kienz. In addition to serving as the Managing Partner for over 25 years, Ryan established and led the firm’s Employment and Labor Practice Group, while also practicing commercial litigation, municipal law and business law. He will continue to advise clients in the business, government and not-for-profit communities.

During a career that has spanned over three decades, Ryan has served multiple municipalities in Sussex and Morris counties as Municipal Attorney and as Employment and Labor Counsel, including, most recently, Sparta Township, Jefferson Township and Rockaway Township. He has also represented numerous clients in the private sector, including Weichert Co. as outside Litigation Counsel; Atlas Refinery, Inc. as General Counsel and member of the Board of Directors; and Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative as outside General Counsel. In the public sector, his clients have included the County of Sussex, Sussex County Community College and SCARC, Inc

During his career with LCR, Ryan has been very active in the legal, business and not-for-profit communities. He is a former President of the Sussex County Bar Association and has served on numerous State Bar and Supreme Court Committees. He has made considerable contributions to the business community, having served as Chairman of the Sussex County Economic Development Partnership and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce. Currently he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Newton Medical Center Foundation. He is a former President of the 200 Club of Sussex County. Ryan is a former Member and President of the Mountain Lakes Board of Education. He was the founder and inspiration behind the annual LCR Economic Forum and the LCR Nonprofit Summit.

It will be a priority for me to ensure the needs of our clients are met and LCR remains at the forefront of the legal community and our community at large.
